Hayes Web & Digital Marketing has been in business since 2014. Our Founde has worked professionally in the web design and digital marketing industry since 2008. Curt has 18 years experience in the web development field and our two other colleagues also have 10 to 20 years experience each, as well.

Since 2014, we have been fortunate to work with so many small to medium sized businesses across the Greater Hamilton Area, throughout Southern Ontario, and beyond. We believe our longevity in the web design industry and our repeat business are proof of our commitment to delivering exceptional results for our clients.

We are based solely in Hamilton, Ontario and we do not outsource any work to other countries or overseas.

There is no definitive cost or a one size fits all cost for a business website. Each website project has different needs and each project tends to have a different scope. We don’t use templates or one-size-fits-all pricing. We quote on each project individually based on the customized needs specific to the business and the value the new website brings.

The goal isn’t to be the cheapest option. It’s to build something that holds up and performs over time.

Most projects fall into these general ranges:

  • $3,500 to $5,000 for smaller, foundational websites
  • $5,000 to $8,000 for more developed builds
  • $8,000 to $12,000+ for larger, more strategic projects

The main factor isn’t size – it’s how much thought, structure, and functionality goes into the site.

A website built to simply “exist” is very different from one designed to generate leads, support SEO, and grow with your business.

We scope everything based on your goals and recommend what makes sense – nothing more, nothing less.

DIY platforms have their place, but they’re usually not a long-term solution for a growing business.

Most do-it-yourself websites end up:

  • Lacking proper structure for SEO
  • Not guiding users toward action
  • Looking fine, but not converting

We see it all the time – businesses try to piece something together, and a year or two later, they’re starting over. If your website plays an important role in bringing in business, it’s worth building it properly the first time.

AI can put together a website quickly, but it doesn’t mean it’s a good one.

It doesn’t understand your business beyond surface-level inputs, and it tends to produce the same type of content and structure across every site. That’s a problem if you’re trying to stand out or generate real leads.

Most AI-built websites:

  • Sound generic
  • Miss key conversion elements
  • Aren’t structured properly for long-term SEO
  • Don’t reflect what actually makes your business different

Artificial Intelligence is not a replacement for experience, strategy, or decision-making. It is a tool to help guide your choices.

If you’re relying on your website to bring in business, it needs more than just something that looks complete — it needs to be built properly.

We keep things clear and structured.

We start by understanding your business, map out the site properly, and then design and build with purpose – not just aesthetics.
You’ll always know where things are at, what’s coming next, and what we need from you. No chasing, no confusion.

A lot of projects fall apart because of poor communication. We’ve built our process to avoid that.

Curt will guide you through the process, but your input matters – especially at the beginning. You’ll be involved in direction, content, and feedback.

After that, we handle the bulk of the work. We keep things efficient so you’re not stuck in endless revisions or going back and forth unnecessarily.

We have over 150 clients on our roster and continue to grow every year.

We take pride in moving at a steady pace and not letting projects sit idle. We are very communicative and always striving towards being as efficient as possible throughout all phases of your project. We strive for anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks for a medium sized website from a turnaround standpoint. However, the pace of the project can vary depending on how communicative both us and the client are.

Yes! Website maintenance is a necessary part of owning and operating a website. We love working with all clients on a long-term basis and will always be readily available to assist with new website updates, new strategy, and ensure that we hit your goals.

We like to check-in frequently with our clients and provide prompt turnaround times on all website updates. Our rate is $100 / hour for website updates as a basic starting point or we can work with you on a monthly maintenance retainer based on your specific needs.

Yes, we do primarily work with small to medium sized businesses who provide services – rather than businesses that sell products.

Some of our most commonly served industries are businesses in the construction, architectural, landscape, electrical, hvac, paving, landscaping, and similar service based industries. We also work closely with healthcare professionals in the physiotherapy, chiropractic, psychotherapy, dentistry, wellness, naturopathic, and similar industries.

We do not build websites for businesses who primarily sell products online as e-commerce or product based marketing is not our forte.

We generally manage the website hosting for all clients as this ensures that your website is optimized as best as possible within the WordPress framework. We partner with a premium WordPress hosting provider – Flywheel Managed Hosting – ensuring that your website is hosted on their state-of-the-art hosting platform. Each website is managed individually to avoid any security issues or vulnerability risks. All clients have access to their hosting account as needed, as well.

Yes – depending on the services that the client provides (and expectations). We have over 15 years experience in working within the Google Ads platform and it’s a speciality that we take pride in. We build Google Ads campaigns and manage them for clients on a consistent basis in addition to providing customized reports and continued strategy.

No, we do not specialize in social media advertising or social media management.

Not often – we tend to stick with informative websites for businesses and less-so e-commerce. As noted, our core client provides services rather than sells products therefor we tend to only take on a few select e-commerce projects if necessary.

No, we do not develop mobile applications or offer software development.
